The
computer-aided technician ensures that company computer equipment is configured
to comply with established guidelines. He or she maintains all terminals and
margins including printers, modems, PCs and data communication devices. With
responsibility for detecting and detecting a type of network error using
appropriate software, the PC support technician is responsible for
troubleshooting. In addition to these duties, he or she will repair and replace
equipment when down. The position often requires the individual to be the
authority on equipment repair and provide the necessary technical assistance.
The job also means keeping all computer supplies useful and available. In some
cases, the computer support technician monitors compliance with company policy on
the use of the end-user network.
Requirements
for the job
This
position requires at least a high school certificate, but often requires a
college degree. Excellent computer skills are essential as well as the ability
to solve problems and problems. Customer service experience is usually
required. The PC support technician should have strong communication skills and
be able to talk to and support those who are not technically competent.
The
job also requires knowledge of basic hardware and software applications and
networking. If the computer support technician is working in a call center, he
should be able to type quickly and have the writing skills to properly enter
the data into the work ticket. Organizational skills are essential.
Knowledge
of both Macintosh and PC is required. The mentally motivated computer-aided
technician should be in great detail. People who want to become computer
support technicians should be willing to take responsibility and trust.
Knowledge of various versions of Microsoft, from Vista through Windows 10 is
also essential.
