This product fully supports SIP and H.323, as well as other
industry standard protocols. PSTN and ISDN services can be connected using
Avaya media gateways, such as Avaya G250. These media gateways work in much the
same way as most vendors by connecting to Aura Communications Manager and
providing inbound and outbound call routing for PSTN and ISDN services.
A second Communication Manager may be installed in critical
environments, providing a high availability and uninterrupted service in the
event of a shutdown of the main server. Further extend this redundancy model,
where both servers are depleted, users will automatically register to the media
gateway, if available, and have access to basic telephony services until the
servers are restored.
Communications Manager is provided as a standalone hardware
application server or virtualization application. It runs on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux operating system, which offers more reliability, speed and less hardware
requirements than other non-Linux based systems.
